SF Boys Basketball is a volunteer-run, township-based organization offering both in-house recreational basketball as well as competitive township travel basketball. 

In-house basketball is played on the weekends at the South Fayette school gyms.  Starting in 2024, the in-house program will start in 1st grade and, with enough participants, will go through 12th grade.  For grades 1 and 2, we plan to offer a weekly skills program called "Dribbling Cubs."  For grades 3 and 4, we offer a program consisting of skills instruction and 3v3 in-house league play.  Starting in grade 5, all in-house players will play full court 5v5 refereed games.  Our in-house program requires sufficient volunteer coaches and coordinators to exist and thrive.  The in-house season typically lasts 8-10 weeks in the winter months (typically December through February).

We offer competitive travel basketball for grades 3 through 8.  Participants try out for travel teams, and not all participants are guaranteed to make a team.  The level of commitment is much more than our in-house program with practices and games during the week and weekend.  Travel teams typically play in one or two of the local travel leagues and participate in multiple township or school tournaments.  The season typically runs from mid-November through mid-March.  Tryouts are typically held in mid- to late-September.
